Creation Entertainment's Grand Slam
XIV: The Sci-Fi Summit Beams into the
Pasadena Center March 10, 11, & 12, 2006

On March 10-12, Sci-fi fans around the world will converge at Creation Entertainment’s 14TH Annual Grand Slam:  The Sci-Fi Summit.  Featuring over 50 celebrities from Lost, Star Trek, and Firefiy, this three-day event will take place at the Pasadena Center, 300 E. Green Street.  Show hours are Friday, Noon – 7 PM and Saturday, 11 AM – 7 PM and Sunday, 11 AM – 6 PM. 
 
Friday, March 10, will feature Star Trek Voyager’s Garrett Wang (Harry Kim) and Robert Picardo (Voyager’s doctor), Star Wars Jay Laga-aia (Capt. Typho of Star Wars: Episode II and III), Farscape’s Wayne Pygram (Scorpius), and classic Star Trek’s Grace Lee Whitney (Janice Rand).

On Saturday, March 11, a celebration of ABC’s hit show Lost will bring Evangeline Lilly (Kate Austen), Naveen Andrews (Sayid), and Ian Somerralder (Boone Carlyle) for their first appearance at Grand Slam.  Also not to be missed will be Star Trek’s Brent Spiner (Data) and Tim Russ (Tuvok), and Andromeda’s Gordon Michael Woolvett (Harper).  Also, FireFly’s Summer Glau (River), Morena Baccarin (Inara Serra) and Adam Baldwin (Jayne Cobb), and from the TV series Supernatural Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester) will appearance on stage.   

On Sunday, March 12, a salute to space will bring acclaimed astronauts Captain Alan Bean who was the fourth man to walk on the moon and Walter M. Schirra, who was one of America’s original Mercury Seven astronaut.  Also appearing will be Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Jonathan Frakes (Commander Riker), Deep Space Nine’s Avery Brooks (Captain Sisko) and from the flim Star Trek: First Contact Alice Krige (the Borg Queen). Ushering in the 40th Anniversary of Star Trek will be Majel Barrett Roddenberry and Eugene Roddenberry.  Other popular celebrity guests will include Buffy the Vampire Slayer  Anthony Stewart Head (Rupert Giles) and writer, co-executive producer fo the Battlestar Galactica TV series,  Mark Verheinen.

In addition to superstar appearances, the non-stop auditorium show will include behind the scenes presentations, costume and trivia contests, no-minimum bid auctions of unique collectibles and one-of-a-kind items, and special salute videos and previews of upcoming sci-fi television shows and motion pictures.

In the Creation autograph room, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with and get autographs from over forty notable sci-fi media guest stars from a variety of Star Trek and sci-fi favorites.

The exhibit hall will feature major companies and distributors selling and displaying sci-fi collectibles from across the galaxy.

Attendees can get a photo taken with an attending celebrity, on 8 X 10 glossy, by a professional photographer. This convention souvenir can be purchased in advance or at the convention and price includes development and shipping.  Celebrity participants include Alan Bean, Walter Schirra, Johathan Frakes, Avery Brooks, Evangeline Lilly, Naveen Andrews, Brent Spiner, Garrett Wang, Wayne Pygram Ian Scomerholder, plus more.  A limited number will be made available for each celebrity.

General admission tickets for the day convention are available in advance for $25 through all Ticketmaster outlets.  At the door, general admission tickets are $25. Tickets for children 7-12 are $20 at the door only, and children six and under are free with parent or guardian.
