Cameron Monaghan may be most known for his role in Shameless, which came to an end in April after 11 seasons, but when it comes to his acting roles, he’s done a lot more than most people even realize.
In fact, before taking on the role of Ian Gallagher in the ultra-popular Showtime series, and being featured as twins Jerome and Jeremiah Valeska in FOX’s Gotham, Monaghan, who got his start as a child model, was seen in several hit films.

Cameron Monaghan’s Acting Career Began In 2002
After landing his first movie role in 2002, The Wishing Stone, Monaghan appeared in two films in 2005, including Brothers in Arms and Desperate Hippies, and two more in 2006, including Adam Sandler’s Click and Tim Allen and Martin Short’s The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause.
As the years continued, so did Monaghan’s success.
Following a role in 2007’s The Three Investigators and the Secret of Skeleton Island, Monaghan had a busy 2008 as he appeared in three different films, including Dream Machine, Dog Gone, and Disarmed.
Cameron Monaghan Was Filming Multiple Movies Each Year
The following year, 2009, Monaghan was just as busy with roles in Safe Harbor, Running, and The Three Investigators and the Secret of Terror Castle, and 2010 went the same for the actor with gigs in Another Harvest Moon, Two Boys, and Bad Bunny.
In the years that followed, Monaghan’s career slowed down just slightly with just one role in 2011, Prom, where he played Corey Doyle, and just one in 2012, when he played the role of Jake in 2nd Serve, .
Cameron Monaghan Starred As Mason Ashford In ‘Vampire Academy’
Following a break in 2013, Monaghan his busiest year yet in 2014 with a whopping four films, including Jamie Marks is Dead, The Giver, Mall, and Vampire Academy, where he starred in the role of Mason Ashford.
In 2017, Monaghan starred as Ross in The Year of Spectacular Men and as James in _Amityville: The Awakening.
In the years since, Monaghan has been featured in the role of Luke Hunter in 2018’s Anthem of a Teenage Prophet and as the voice of Kon-El and Superboy in 2019’s Reign of the Supermen.
Cameron Monaghan Will Be Seen Next In ‘Shattered’
Most recently, Monaghan took on the role of Chris Decker in Shattered, which does not yet have a release date.
In June, Variety confirmed the news of Monaghan’s latest project, revealing the upcoming film is a thriller, which also stars John Malkovich and Lilly Krug.
At the time of the report, it was noted that filming was complete and also revealed the project was in post-production.
Although a release date has not yet been confirmed, post-production was expected to be complete by fall 2021.
