California to push forward with 1st state-funded guaranteed income program in U.S.

California lawmakers on Thursday approved the first state-funded guaranteed income plan in the U.S., which will see $ 35 million US for monthly cash payments go to qualifying pregnant people and young adults who recently left foster care.
