From Skai Jackson to JoJo Siwa: ‘DWTS’ Youngest Competitors

There have been a lot of youngsters on recent seasons of Dancing With the Stars, but which cast member is the youngest of all? That honor goes to actress Willow Shields, of projects including the Hunger Games.

According to a recent report shared by The Things, Shields appeared on season 20 in 2015 and lasted until episode seven before being eliminated.

During her stint on the show, Shields, who was just 14-years-old at the time, was paired with professional dancer Mark Ballas.

Jojo Siwa

Jojo Siwa is another youngster of Dancing With the Stars and is currently featured on the 30th season of the ABC competition series. However, she’s four years older than Shields at 18 years of age.

When Siwa, who was long known for her flashy clothing and over-the-top, sparkly hair bows, joined the cast, she made history by being part of the first same-sex pairing with professional dancer Jenna Johnson.

Speaking to the TV Insider, Johnson said, “Seriously, it’s the best time. It’s such a joy to be able to perform with JoJo.”

Skai Jackson And Other Disney Stars

Dancing With the Stars has also had a couple of young actresses from Disney, including Skai Jackson, of Jessie, and Zendaya, of Shake It Up.

As fans will recall, Jackson appeared on season 29 with dancer Alan Bersten when she was just 18. and Zendaya was featured on season 16 in 2013 when she was just 16 years old.

Zendaya was paired with professional dancer Valentin Chmerkovskiy during her stint on the show and ended up as her season’s runner up.

Another Disney actor, Cody Linley, known for appearing on Hannah Montana, was featured at the age of 19 with teammate Julianne Hough.

He came in 4th place and is the youngest male to compete.

Gymnasts

Laurie Hernandez appeared on the 23rd season of Dancing With the Stars at 16 years old and ended up taking home the Mirror Ball Trophy, making her the youngest contestant to ever with the show.

Hernandez was partnered with Valentin Chmerkovskiy and her fellow gymnast, Shawn Johnson, was teamed up with Mark Ballas.

Many years before Hernandez was named as champion, Johnson appeared on season eight at the age of 17.

Johnson won her season of the show and is the second youngest winner of all time.

Bindi Irwin

Another youngster is the beloved Bindi Irwin, who teamed up with dancer Derek Hough on the 21st season of Dancing With the Stars when she was 17.

Irwin was also named as the show’s winner of her season, making her the third-youngest cast member of Dancign With the Stars.
