How Kaley Cuoco Went From Cute Child Star To Emmy-Nominated Actress

Kaley Cuoco is one of the leading comedy actors of today. Before she became the beloved Penny in The Big Bang Theory and Cassie in The Flight Attendant, she had to work hard at a young age to climb her way to the top.

The 36-year-old California native has played a lot of roles on TV. But, while her TV characters are super popular, her life off-screen is just as interesting.

Scroll down to see how Cuoco rose to stardom.

Starting Young

Even before her fame on TV, Kaley had already been doing commercials as young as five years old. She had some minor roles on shows as well but it wasn’t until the early 2000s when the mainstream public started noticing her.

One of Kaley’s most memorable TV roles is Bridget in ABC’s 8 Simple Rules. Playing a bubbly and beautiful blonde on-screen earned Kaley many fans. But, her charm wasn’t from looks alone, she obviously had the talent to go with her bright smile.

The Big Bang Theory

While Bridget put her on the map, it was Penny who made her a TV icon.

Cuoco shared to Entertainment Tonight that nothing will ever compare to her Big Bang experience.

"It’s something I’ll have for the rest of my life. It’s something I’ll probably compare every project to, like nothing will be like Big Bang," she said. "It just is what it is. It’s made me who I am. It’s given me so many great things and blessings and I’ll be very indebted to the show and Chuck Lorre forever."

Relationship Problems

Kaley’s career was skyrocketing but her relationships weren’t as successful.

She had a whirlwind relationship with tennis pro Ryan Sweeting while on TBBT but they split up after just 21 months of being married.

"I married someone the first time who completely changed. The person I ended up with was not the person I originally met. And that wasn’t my fault — that was his," Cuoco explained in a Cosmopolitan interview.

Kaley’s second marriage to equestrian Karl Cook also ended in divorce. The couple, who had been married for three years, announced their split last year.

“Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realized that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions… There is no anger or animosity, quite the contrary," the estranged couple said in their public statement.

Full-On Girl Boss

Despite her heart troubles, Kaley continues to fly high. She got her first Emmy nom for The Flight Attendant, her production company is growing, and she also has several upcoming movie projects in the next years.

"I want to be a full-on girl boss. I’ve been in the business so long, and I’ve worked with the best. I don’t let people mess with me. I want to show girls out there that you can be cool, wear yoga clothes and run your own f—— company," Cuoco explained to Cosmo.

There’s obviously no stopping this blonde from fulfilling her ambitions.
