On Saturday evening, Fox News host Jeanine Pirro ripped into President Joe Biden and argued that the United States is in danger of becoming a “fascist state” under his leadership.
Pirro slammed Biden for wanting to pass gun control measures, saying that his “official position on the right to bear arms puts us in peril of becoming a fascist state,” according to Mediaite.
The Justice with Judge Jeanine host’s remarks come as the Biden White House readies to impose various gun control measures.
‘Who Made You King?’ Pirro Asks Biden
Pirro played a clip of Biden stressing that his proposals in no way violate the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, but noting that “no amendment to the Constitution is absolute.”
“Really? Really? Oh? No Constitutional amendment is absolute? Where did you hear that one? Or better question, who made you king?” Pirro asked after playing the clip.
“You know, seven years ago I said we can’t blame peaceful Muslims for what radical Muslims do any more than we can blame peaceful gun owners for what nut jobs do,” the host added.
Pirro Claims Gun Control Is ‘An Illusion’
Pirro argued that gun control does not work, pointing to the city of Chicago — which has a high crime rate — as evidence that strict laws don’t necessarily produce better results.
“Chicago has one of the strictest gun laws in the nation and some of the highest gun crime rates in the nation. What does that tell you, Joe? It tells you gun control’s an illusion.”
She noted that the best way to combat violent crime is to “prosecute the criminal and make sure he learns not to commit the crime again.”
Pirro Takes A Shot At Biden’s Son
Pirro also took a shot at Biden’s son, Hunter, who has had issues with substance abuse in the past.
She told the president that his policies are targeting law abiding gun owners, as opposed to actual criminals.
“Criminals and unstable individuals or those with drug abuse problems like your son Hunter should not be able to get a gun. Why don’t you start working on those problems?” Pirro asked.
“Criminals are not afraid of you. In fact, they are laughing at you,” she added.
Gun Control
Earlier this week, Biden issued a number of executive orders on gun control. However, as NBC News reported, the president’s actions will likely face legal challenges because gun rights activist view them as a violation of the Second Amendment.
Biden issued the orders in the wake of shootings in Colorado and Georgia, but noted that they are meant to reduce suicides and domestic gun violence as well.
Former President Barack Obama has expressed support for the Biden administration’s efforts. In a recent Facebook post, he slammed “cowardly politicians” for caving to the gun lobby.
