Life on Mars breakthrough – crater once filled with water may be key to Red Planet secrets

MARS’s Jerezo crater was once a quiet lake, fed by a small river some 3.7 billion years ago, images taken by Nasa’s Perseverance rover have confirmed, in a development which raises the tantalising prospect of proving once and for all that life once existed on the Red Planet.
