‘The Bachelor’ Stars Arie Luyendyk, Jr. & Lauren Burnham Welcome Their Twins

Arie Luyendyk, Jr. and his wife Lauren Burnham of The Bachelor are now officially a family of five. The two already have their daughter Alessi, and now twins have arrived.

On Monday, Arie and Lauren shared their “Twin Birth Vlog” via their YouTube channel. It showed the two heading to the hospital as she had some contractions, admitting they half expected to be sent home. The medical team determined the babies would be born that day, though, and it happened a couple of hours later.

The Big Arrival

The YouTube clip showed Lauren heading to the operating room for her C-section and Arie joining her moments later. Their baby girl came first, at 8:33 p.m. on June 11, with their son a few moments later.

Arie had joked ahead of the delivery that he thought they would both weigh over 6 pounds. She wasn’t so sure, but he just about nailed it. The baby girl was 5 pounds, 13 ounces, while the baby boy was 6 pounds, 5 ounces, at birth.

Some Time In The NICU

As is often the case with twins, the Luyendyk babies came a bit early. On June 5, Lauren had posted a photo on Instagram noting she was 36 weeks pregnant. The babies weren’t too early, but they did both spend a little time in the NICU.

The baby boy bid farewell to the NICU pretty quickly, but the baby girl needed a little more support. She had some trouble breathing and her heart rate dropped sometimes, so she stayed in the NICU a little longer.

No Name Reveal Quite Yet

Arie and Lauren have shared video and photos of the babies, but they have not yet revealed their names. In March, however, they teased The Bachelor fans with some hints and names they were not going to use.

In their YouTube video, they explained they had come up with the names they planned to use back before Alessi was born. They loved the names then and still loved them with this pregnancy, but it’s certainly possible they could make a last-minute change.

A Big Hint On Baby Girl’s Name

They wouldn’t reveal the names they chose, they did give a hint about the girl’s name. Lauren noted she loves using traditionally boy’s names for girls, seemingly saying that was the plan for this baby.

Will they name baby boy Arie? The Bachelor star was named after his father, so it would carry on a family tradition. However, it didn’t necessarily sound as if that was their plan.

Lauren and the babies are doing well so far, and The Bachelor fans will be anxious to learn more details.
